10 Things I would Bring On a Boat. SJL W1

This week In Nghare we are doing Summer learning journey we are pretending that we are on a boat for three weeks and this is my food that I would be eating for three weeks.

1. Fruit like Pineapple, Strawberries etc

2. I would need a lot of water because you need 8 cups a day and if you don't drink any you die

3. I would want protein bars because I need energy for the long trip and it would be hard to workout

4. I would chips because they are really yum

5. I also need oats because they are really healthy and they are an everyday food

6. I would bring Oranges because they have citric in them 

7. I would bring cookies for a snack will I am waiting to get there

8. I would bring a sandwich because they are good for you.

9. I would bring fruit kebabs because I would eat more fruit and fruit is good for you

10. The lucky last thing I would bring is marshmallows. Marshmallows are really good and you can eat them with chocolate sauce.

Today Ngahere have been making our own adventure stories and we get to choose where the setting is, what happens and who is in the story.
I enjoyed picking the characters I want and what happens
I found it challenging writing what should happen and when.

Food For Thought

Today Ngahere have been doing food for thought we have been learning
what are everyday foods and occasional food everyday food has a fat total less than 10 grams unless it has good fats which are nuts seeds and avocados. Sugars have to be less than 10 grams unless it has fruit in it then it can be 20 grams Dietary fibre has to be more than 5 grams and salt has to be less than 400 milligrams. We went to New World to looks and the everyday and occasional food my group found out that shapes have less salt then Cruskits. I was in a group with Taj, Clara and Aaron and our adult was miss Farr. and on the way there I went in miss Farr's car with Quaid and Clara.

Lorde

Today Ngahere have been doing summer learning journey and for the teaser week we are making google drawings about facts of Lorde the famous New Zealand singer born in Auckland She is 23 years old

I found it challenging figuring out what to write for the facts and it was also hard trying to spell her real-life name and finding the facts was pretty hard because I had to go to different websites to see if it was true because some websites can be false.

I enjoyed finding the pictures and picking what ones I want to put in my drawing and looking at how much subscribers she has and also listening to her songs while I was making the google drawing I listened to the song ''Royals''.

The Duck Story

The past week Ngahere have been doing adventure stories The class voted on where the setting should be and what happens we all did a plan and then we started making it.

I enjoyed Making the story and writing some of the stuff that happens
I found challenging linking the slides because I just learnt today
Next time I want to write my own story and pick what happens

Puha Plants

Today Ngahere is making native Puha plants for the Kiwiana float. I enjoyed painting the Puha plants because we don't usually get to paint. I found it challenging cutting it out because
I kept mucking up because the cardboard is thick

Checkmate

Today Ngahere have done a summary on a book called Checkmate I like this book because Chess is a strategic game and I like being strategic in games. I found it challenging thinking of what to write in the important bits of the story.

Blog Analysis

Today Ngahere have done Blog analysis to see which month and year we have done the most blog posts and why.
I found it challenging getting the graphs on my drive and figuring out what to write.
I enjoyed seeing what years I did better on and how I can be BTB next year

Dick Frizzell Art

Today Ngahere is learning about Dick Frizzell. We are learning about him because he is a New Zealand artist and for Paroa schools Kiwiana Christmas parade. We are doing Dick Frizzels pukeko in a ponga tree illustration. Then I had too choose my favourite artwork of his and paint it myself.
I enjoyed painting it because I was allowed to add lots of bright colour.
I found it challenging trying to figure out what painting I should choose and what colours to mix to make other colours.

Decimals

Today Rectangles and Triangles for maths are doing decimals
I enjoyed adding all of the questions together to figure out what the correct answer is
I found it challenging thinking of the correct answer

Adventure Stories

Today Ngahere have done a brainstorm on choose your own adventure story
I enjoyed writing lost of ideas and thinking of what to write and how to put it in a sentence
I found it challenging thinking of the ideas it took a while until an idea snapped in my head.

Film Festival

In term 3 the whole of Paroa school did film festival. Film festival are videos that are submitted into the judges that run film festival and say which school made the best videos. There are 4 people in my group Me, Harrison, Harlem and Keil. Every school across Greymouth are participating in the film festival

My Family

Today Ngahere Made a slideshow that has Your parents, grandparents and you all in Maori. I found it challenging trying to figure out what the Maori names were for my grandparents and parents. I enjoyed recording because my friend was making me laugh behind the camera.

Number of the week

Ngahere does number of the week every week. This week we did 623 WE have to answer all of the slides we had to write the number in words, do the expanded form, next 3 number, and so on.

Where in the world am I

Ngahere have made a where in the world am I slide show. We have used remove.bg to make ourselves have no background. You have to guess where i am with the hints I am going to give you.

Today Ngahere did poems using Cinquain. Cinquain is a poem that has syllables the syllables go like 2 4 6 8 2. The first 2 is subject then the 4 describe the 6 is action 8 feeling and the last 2 is the conclusion.

Today Ngahere is practising onomatopeia. Onomatopeia is the use of a word which sounds like what they are describing we all had to make our own onomatopoeia poem this is my one.
I found figuring how what my poem should be about challenging.

T4 W2 Number Of The Week

This is my number of the week for term 4 week 1.
The number of the week Miss Farr chose us a number and we have to do all of these things with the number.

Term 4 Reflection

I have learnt about why people think the earth is flat and about beats in songs
I enjoyed doing athletics because I like Long Jump and High Jump and also doing Food Tech
I found High Jump challenging because I'm short but I barley got over the 1 meter
Next week I want to work on learning about all the planets and more facts about why people think it is flat

Week 8 Reflection

Week 8 was a good week. I enjoyed making chips on Thursday for food tech. I found it challenging doing Māori week because there were lots of songs and they were talking fast in Māori. kepapa Huarakuā

Today Ngahere made kepapa huarakau using a pukapuka called kepapa huarākau I am going to tell you the steps
1. Tuatahi horoia ngā kerepe (First wash the grapes)
2. Tuarua tīhoretia ngā āporo ngā hua kiwi (peel the apples, kiwifruit, bananas and oranges)
3. ngā panana me ngā ārani (Cut the fruit into small peaces)
4. Tuatoru tapahia ngā huarā (Put the fruit and the marshmallows on the sticks)
5.Tino reka ngā kepapa  (the kebabs are really delicious

Making Hokey Pokey

Last week the year 6's made hokey pokey my group there was Harlem, Dion and I. I enjoyed eating it at the end. It was challenging because we couldn't find the ingredients and the pot. Next time I think my group and I should leave it on the stove for as long because it makes it so you don't have as much to eat and it was burnt

Week 6 Reflection

This week (Week 6) I learnt how to do vanishing point art work. I found it hard doing all the basic facts this week because there were so much questions. I have enjoyed doing Jump Jam in the morning because it wakes myself up so I am not tired and it's just fun. Next week I want to work on not talking on the mat anymore.

Week 5 Reflection

One thing I have learnt this week is wevideo and ow to share the video with my group. I found doing maths medals and literacy medals hard this week because there were some pretty hard questions. I enjoyed doing blogging this week because Me Kohen Harrison and Quaid are doing a prison breakout slide show that we will be posting to our blogs soon. Next week I want to work on not talking on the mat.

Chapter 1



Once upon a time there was a little boy called Jack. Jack loved to run around outside.  One day he was playing outside but there was a storm coming the rain hit. Jack laughed “haha this is so much fun” the wind blew he tripped “haha” the wind got stronger and stronger Jack screamed “Ahhh” Mary ran outside to check on Jack but when she got outside he was nowhere to be seen. Mary ran back inside and got Benjamin “Benjamin Jack got blown away by the wind! Mary ran outside with a coat and an umbrella “Jack are you there” she looked in the backyard,she looked at his school She even looked up in a tree but Jack was nowhere to be seen. Mary ran over to a forest she looked everywhere in the bushes behind a tree even under a rock she ran back to the house grabbed some paper and wrote child missing if found please call 011914 she stuck the paper all around town hoping someone would find her son. People around town saw the note then news reporters saw the note they invited Mary to see if she wanted to go on the news she said yes. “So Mary is your child lost” “Yes please find him he a little boy with dark brown hair a white shirt a blue jeans please find him. The police saw the news. The police grabbed there guns and got a K-9 they got into the police car on a quest to find the missing child.



Chapter 2


More and more people found out that Jack was missing and tried to find him even his school was trying to find him.

One day Mary heard jacks voice at her house she yelled “JACK!!’’

The voice laughed she kept hearing his voice laughing. She followed the voice it ended up in a forest. But then suddenly she saw a huge tree bigger than anyone she has ever seen the tree started to move but mary said ‘’probably just the wind’’ and walked away. She heard more rustling but didn't take notice.

But when she looked back it was gone. She heard branches snapping in the distance. She followed. But then she found a graveyard there were lots of gravestones of people she knows. But then she saw one that said Jack-1946-1953. Mary stared at the gravestone but she saw a shadow next to the gravestone and heard a voice say ‘’mum’’

 she said ‘’jack is that you?’’

Jack said ‘’look behind you’’mary looked nothing was there but when she looked back at the gravestone in the distance she saw something. at first she didn't realise what it was but she walked towards it and it walked towards her. She slowly took steps back. It went faster and faster towards her mary sprinted away she looked away to run but when she looked back it was gone.

 Mary sprant back home as fast as she could by the time she got home it was dark outside so she took a shower and headed to bed. The next day she went to the cemetery again Jacks gravestone was gone she saw a shadow holding jackes gravestone she ran after it and it ran away. She kept running after it. She took a hard left turn and then it was gone. She ended up in a forest and all she could hear was the wind and the trees she could feel the wind breezing through her hair while she was walking she was just thinking of giving up until…
