House Mesurments

Today I made a rough example of my house and some of the measurements I did one square equals one meter and the squares are on the book. I found it challenging to find out how far each room was and how big they are. I Enjoyed writing the names of the rooms on the paper

ANZAC Facts

ANZAC Facts

ANZAC stands for Australia New Zealand Army Force. They started fighting in Gallipoli on 19th February 1915 and ended on the 9th of January 1916. Every year people celebrate ANZAC day to remember the people that fought for us. 

Let's talk about ANZAC biscuits, ANZAC biscuits were made for the soldiers because they could easily be shipped and would not go stale throughout the travel. Still to this day people eat ANZAC biscuits. 11,430 people died in Gallipoli that day with 8,709 people from Australia and 2,721 people from New Zealand. 

ANZAC day is recognized on 25 of April every year.

I enjoyed finding the facts about ANZAC day because it was really interesting looking at them. I didn't really find it that challenging because finding the facts were easy to find

10 Things I would Bring On a Boat. SJL W1

This week In Nghare we are doing Summer learning journey we are pretending that we are on a boat for three weeks and this is my food that I would be eating for three weeks.

1. Fruit like Pineapple, Strawberries etc

2. I would need a lot of water because you need 8 cups a day and if you don't drink any you die

3. I would want protein bars because I need energy for the long trip and it would be hard to workout

4. I would chips because they are really yum

5. I also need oats because they are really healthy and they are an everyday food

6. I would bring Oranges because they have citric in them 

7. I would bring cookies for a snack will I am waiting to get there

8. I would bring a sandwich because they are good for you.

9. I would bring fruit kebabs because I would eat more fruit and fruit is good for you

10. The lucky last thing I would bring is marshmallows. Marshmallows are really good and you can eat them with chocolate sauce.

Today Ngahere have been making our own adventure stories and we get to choose where the setting is, what happens and who is in the story.
I enjoyed picking the characters I want and what happens
I found it challenging writing what should happen and when.

Food For Thought

Today Ngahere have been doing food for thought we have been learning
what are everyday foods and occasional food everyday food has a fat total less than 10 grams unless it has good fats which are nuts seeds and avocados. Sugars have to be less than 10 grams unless it has fruit in it then it can be 20 grams Dietary fibre has to be more than 5 grams and salt has to be less than 400 milligrams. We went to New World to looks and the everyday and occasional food my group found out that shapes have less salt then Cruskits. I was in a group with Taj, Clara and Aaron and our adult was miss Farr. and on the way there I went in miss Farr's car with Quaid and Clara.

Lorde

Today Ngahere have been doing summer learning journey and for the teaser week we are making google drawings about facts of Lorde the famous New Zealand singer born in Auckland She is 23 years old

I found it challenging figuring out what to write for the facts and it was also hard trying to spell her real-life name and finding the facts was pretty hard because I had to go to different websites to see if it was true because some websites can be false.

I enjoyed finding the pictures and picking what ones I want to put in my drawing and looking at how much subscribers she has and also listening to her songs while I was making the google drawing I listened to the song ''Royals''.

The Duck Story

The past week Ngahere have been doing adventure stories The class voted on where the setting should be and what happens we all did a plan and then we started making it.

I enjoyed Making the story and writing some of the stuff that happens
I found challenging linking the slides because I just learnt today
Next time I want to write my own story and pick what happens
